       PSE (Product Safety of Electrical Appliance  &  Materials) Certification (referred to as "suitability check" in Japanese) is a compulsory market access system for Japanese electrical appliances and is an important part of Japan's "Electrical Appliance Safety Law" There are 116 products for "Specific Electrical Products", "Non-Specific Electrical Products" for 341 products, and the technical requirements include EMC and safety.
Products belonging to the "Specific Electrical Products" catalog must be certified by a third-party certification body authorized by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to enter the Japanese market, obtain a certificate of conformity, and affix a diamond-shaped PSE logo on the nameplate. As shown below:

       Products belonging to the "non-specific electrical equipment" catalog entering the Japanese market are subject to self-test and self-declaration to confirm compliance with the technical standards for electrical appliances in Japan and affix the round PSE logo on the nameplate as follows The picture shows:

       A typical belonging to the Class A products are: switching power supplies, common IT equipment, audio and video products.
        Typical Class B products are: Simple wiring sleeves and junction boxes; Simple single-phase motors between 100V-300V; Household electric products; Household electric or video games; Household or household products using light sources; Household and Commercial electronic products; Other 100V-300V between the electrical products.
