1, what is OHSAS18001 occupational health and safety management system?
Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS18001) is a management system standard applicable to the occupational health and safety of any organization. Its purpose is to reduce and prevent accidental loss of life, property, time and damage to the environment through management.
OHSAS18001: 1999 provides organizations with a set of risk management methods:
- Identify hazards that exist in the company's products, services, activities and work environment through professional investigation and assessment and conformity assessment required by relevant laws and regulations
- Develop appropriate control plans for unacceptable hazards and risks
- Implement control plans and regularly review and evaluate occupational health and safety regulations and plans
- Establish a management system that includes elements such as organizational structure, responsibilities, training, communication, emergency preparedness and response, and continually improve occupational health and safety performance.
July 2, 2007 The OHSAS18001 standard-setting working group officially released the new OHSAS 18001: 2007 standard.

OHSAS18000 review scope
In order to clarify the basic requirements of occupational safety and health management system, employers are encouraged to adopt reasonable occupational safety and health management principles and methods to control their occupational safety and health risks, continuously improve their occupational safety and health performance, and formulate audit norms for occupational safety and health management systems.
 This Code applies to any employer with the following wishes:
     (1) Establishing an occupational safety and health management system that effectively eliminates and minimizes the risks associated with employing activities that employees and other relevant personnel may suffer;
     (2) Implement, maintain and continuously improve its occupational safety and health management system;
     (3) to ensure compliance with its stated occupational safety and health policy;
     (4) Indicate to society the principle of occupational safety and health;
     (5) Seek external agencies to certify and register their occupational safety and health management system;
     (6) self-evaluation and statement in line with this specification.
 All the requirements set out in the code are intended to help employers establish an occupational safety and health management system. The extent of their application depends on the employer's occupational safety and health policy, the characteristics of the activity, the nature of the risk and the complexity of its operation.
